The project of this private house is placed in Berlin’s Hansaviertel Quarter. The site is located in a busy area so I decided to isolate the house from the external world to ensure the owners’ peace and privacy. For this reason, the only openings on the outer wall are the entrance door and a large window that gives light to the dining room. The essential sources of light for illuminating the whole house come from the internal patio. The materiality helps to point out the separation between the inner and the external world: wood, cosy material, for the first one; concrete, rigid material, for the second one.
